Choosing an Installer

What makes us different?

Every job we get is an opportunity to impress. If we do it well, we get recommended, and the more we get recommended, the more opportunities we get to show how well we do what we do.

We take huge pride in our work and that’s why we have great relationships with our customers – as you can see from our testimonials page.

We also get to see the bad side of the industry and we often have to fix this. With us, we are highly accredited, so if you are not happy and we haven’t dealt with something to your satisfaction you have somewhere to go – this backup has never been used but is there for your peace of mind.

Do you offer free, no obligation quotations?

For installations we offer free, no obligation quotations. If we are quoting for repair works and an engineer is required to visit site this will incur a callout charge.

When did your company start?

We are a family run business which started in 1972 but became a limited company in February 1982.

Will we be pestered if we get a quote?

You may be contacted for some feedback but we guarantee no pressure sales. We are signed up to the Which Trusted Trader Code of Practice.

Can you provide references for your work?

Please look at our Testimonials page and reviews on Which Trusted Traders and, if after receiving a quotation you would like further references, we can pass on details of some of our customers to contact.

Are you members of any noteworthy trade associations?

We are independently audited annually for technical compliance, installation quality and financial stability. We are also members of Trustmark, the government-endorsed scheme, and the first air conditioning company to become a Which Trusted Trader.

Are you a local company?

With our satellite offices, we cover London and the Home Counties of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. There are companies that claim to be local that aren’t. Check on the website contact details – if there isn’t an address, be suspicious. Local phone numbers do not necessarily mean a local company.

Will we be waiting all day for an engineer or surveyor?

We rate punctuality very highly and barring any situation out of our control we will be there when we say. Even if we can’t we will let you know as soon as we can. We can arrange to call before we arrive to ensure that you are not waiting unnecessarily.

What previous experience do you have?

We have worked in Houses, Schools, Hospitals, Care Homes, Offices, TV / recording studios, Film sets, Shops, Railway Stations, Banks, Laboratories, Doctors, Dentists, High Security Buildings, Pubs, Server Rooms, Computer rooms, IT Suites, Data Centres and much, much more.

Do you work safely?

We are registered with CHAS, who have stringent registration requirements and ensure we continually maintain and develop our high health and safety procedures. All our site visiting staff have undergone a CSCS Skillcard health and safety assessment. We have an excellent H&S record.

Are your staffed trained and qualified?

The best way to develop the mindset of our staff into our way of working is to provide training. We continually assess and train our employees, including through our apprenticeship scheme. We also attend manufacturers’ training courses to ensure we know the systems as best as possible.

Are you insured?

We have £10m Employers’ Liability, £5m Public Liability and £150k Contractors’ All Risks Insurances. Copies of our insurance certificates can be viewed in the About Us section.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

We normally require a deposit. For domestic customers, this is fully protected by the government-endorsed TrustMark scheme.

What happens if we are not happy?

Firstly, talk to us. We pride ourselves on being a personable and honest company. For domestic customers, if we fail to meet our contractual obligations, the work will be completed by a BESA-approved contractor at no extra cost to you, up to £50,000.

How do we know your work is up to standard?

We don’t expect our customers to be air conditioning specialists – after all, that is what we are here for. However, for your peace of mind, we are regularly inspected by an independent audit. If at any stage you are not happy, you have an alternative avenue to complain to. We have not had a customer that has needed to take that route thanks to how seriously we take customer service.
